The SHORT FILM FESTIVAL NETWORK is a new festival for short films. We're filmmakers also and saw there was an opening to do something different. So after beating our brains together, we thought what would we want to sign up for. What would make it a great festival that we would like to be apart of? The biggest part is what would we want to win?

We have a few short films ourselves and we have submitted to thousands of festivals (an exaggeration obviously lol), but we have submitted to a few and if you have done the same thing, you know it costs. So you spend your money, then two months later you find out you didn't make it into one, but got into another and won. This is when we scratched our heads and thought well maybe it's a bias situation, maybe it's festival darlings who get recognized first. Maybe, it's because we didn't have a name in our project. Way too many variables.

So after a few brainstorming sessions, we decided we don't want to just give winners a trophy, a proverbial pat on the back, good job blah, blah, blah. We know most filmmakers do not have benefactors and yeah our family members aren't jumping at the chance to contribute to our next go fund me campaign. Well, what if our winners won equipment, or funding or assistance in scoring, etc. What if we helped insure, our winners had a greater opportunity at creating a new film? Yes, now that sounds like something we would want to submit our hard earned money to next. I can feel ok, knowing i might get help on my next budget, or i just won a new camera, etc.

Now, you're rubbing your hands together and thinking, yeah this sounds great....count me in. Ok, so now you've won the festival and you paid to travel to come down to our screening and you did some networking and you had a great time, now what? Well, that's what the SHORT FILM FESTIVAL NETWORK is for. We add your film to our platform and let the world watch it.
